Website pages

Host a client's whole website on their own address: the home page, their pages (services, about, contact) at the same addresses they had on WordPress, the blog, and permanent redirects for anything that moved. Pages come over as drafts. Nothing changes at the client's address until you publish a page and switch the site on.

The site switch

Keep the address the blog had on WordPress, for example /blog/. With the slash at the end, every blog address ends in a slash too. Leave it empty to keep /articles/.

Bring the pages over from WordPress

Reads the site's public pages only, 25 per press. Each page keeps its address. Images are listed for you to bring over by hand; they are not copied. Nothing on the old site changes.

Pages

Tick drafts and publish them. A published page shows at its address once the site is switched on.

Redirects

One row per line. /old-address /new-address sends visitors on for good (301). Add keep-query at the end to carry anything after the ? over. /old-address gone says the page was removed on purpose (410). New addresses must be paths on this same site. Blog posts brought over from WordPress get their redirects on their own and are listed below.
